If you’ve started shopping for an outdoor sauna, you’ve probably noticed the same thing we did when we got into this business: most builders won’t tell you what anything costs. You have to fill out a form, wait for a call back, and only then find out whether it’s even in your budget.
We do it differently. Every base model on our site has a real price attached to it — not a “starting at” teaser, but the actual price for that size, fully equipped. Here’s exactly what that includes, what it doesn’t, and what tends to move the number up or down.
What’s included in every base price
Every Stoke Sauna base model — regardless of size — comes with:
- A handcrafted structure built with durable LP Smartside siding, weather resistant barrier, fully insulated walls and roof, a foil-faced vapor barrier, and select tight-knot western red cedar paneling inside
- Your choice of a premium IKI heater from Finland — either the IKI Mini Plus wood-fired stove or the IKI electric pillar 6-kW stove with Wi-Fi controls — at no additional cost either way
- A full 12-volt lighting kit, inside and out
- Free delivery to your driveway, anywhere within 50 miles of Delano, MN
That last point matters when you’re comparing prices between builders: a quote that doesn’t include delivery, a heater, or lighting isn’t really comparable to one that does.

What moves the price from there
Every base price gets you a fully functioning sauna — ready to use, nothing missing. From there, almost nobody orders a completely stock sauna, and that’s by design — we want your sauna to fit your space and how you’ll actually use it. Any upgrades you choose are itemized extras on top of that base price, there to make your sauna your own, not to complete it. Once you pick a base size, you can customize things like:
- Door style — from the included cedar door up to a full-glass Helo door (+$600)
- Stove surround — from the included corrugated steel surround up to a mortar-applied stone veneer
- Interior lighting — upgraded LED strip lighting, backrest lighting, or Cariitti fixtures
- Bench layout — L-shaped, dual, or slatted bench configurations
- Roofline — gable roofs, covered porches, extended overhangs, or wrap-around porches
- Flooring, paneling, siding, and exterior accents — cedar upgrades throughout
Every one of these options is itemized as a separate line on your quote, so you can see exactly what each upgrade costs and add or drop things to fit your budget — nothing bundled, nothing hidden.
Two costs to plan for that won’t show up on your quote
Your quote from us covers the sauna itself, fully built and delivered. There are two more pieces almost every outdoor sauna needs that fall outside of what we provide — worth budgeting for separately as you plan:
Electrical hookup. If you choose the electric heater, you’ll need a licensed electrician to run power to the sauna. What that costs depends entirely on your setup — how far the sauna sits from your electrical panel, whether a trench needs to be dug, and local electrician rates. We’re happy to point you toward what to ask for, but this is a cost you’ll get quoted directly from an electrician. Our process page walks through the electrical specs (220V, 30–40 amp circuits) so you know what to ask for.
Pad preparation. Every sauna needs a stable, well-draining base — resting it directly on soil or sod will cause problems over time. That means removing the topsoil in the footprint and building a compacted Class 5 gravel pad underneath. Plenty of our customers do this themselves — it’s straightforward with the right equipment and a little sweat — and we’re glad to walk you through exactly what’s needed. If you’d rather not do it yourself, a local landscaper or excavator can usually handle it in a day. See our process page for the full pad prep and delivery walkthrough.
Why we price it this way
We’d rather you know the real number up front than get a surprise later. Our base prices reflect what a sauna actually costs, fully built and delivered — and every custom option beyond that is priced individually and shown on your quote, so you’re always in control of where your budget goes.
